Fall news from JCF!

A video update from our Executive Director, Jennifer Hamilton

October 12th marked three years since the passing of our beloved pastor and friend, Jimmy Carroll. He's in our thoughts and prayers today, as are all who miss him dearly. We will work hard every day to continue his legacy through the mission and actions of the Jimmy Carroll Foundation.

Partner Event Spotlight

Superhero Day

POW! What a fun day we had when we provided a SUPERHERO DAY for everyone at Duke University Hospital Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy! We supplied lunch for caregivers and staff, played Superhero Bingo with the patients, and gave out prizes, superhero capes, and masks to all. We enjoyed interacting with the patients, caregivers, and incredible staff at Duke PTCT. What an amazing opportunity to live out our mission of tangibly showing love to those who can often be overlooked.

HEAT Video Premier

JCF had the opportunity to attend the U.S. Attorney's Office Heroin Education Action Team (HEAT) Video Premier. HEAT was formed to reduce the growing harm heroin and opiate abuse is having on North Carolina families and communities by increasing community understanding of this epidemic. The video was powerful and will be an effective and influential resource that HEAT will share with schools and community partners to educate and raise awareness.

Duke PTCT's Rainbow of Heroes Walk

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Duke University Hospital PTCT's Rainbow of Heroes Walk! It was incredible to see your support of JCF and our partners. We know it would have made Jimmy Carroll very proud to see us all come together to serve caregivers and patients who are often overlooked. They were seen and loved - and we have YOU to thank for that.

Galley Golf Classic

JCF was so happy to be a part of the Hope Community Church Galley Golf Classic on October 9th. All proceeds from the event went towards supporting our partner, Ship Outreach. Last year's event raised enough funds to cover operating expenses for Ship's The Galley Grocery for an entire year - we can't wait to see the impact this year's event will have!

JCF Values & Priorities in Action: Open-Mindedness

JCF is working hard to effect positive change in our community through our Sex Trafficking Initiative partnership with Ship Community Outreach. We committed to providing them with $90,000 over the next three years to support their day center where sex trafficking victims can find emergency assistance and resources.

In 2021, over 1.5 million North Carolina households didn't have enough to eat. JCF is working to change this by partnering with organizations like A Place at the Table Raleigh, where anyone is welcome to dine, regardless of means.

Beverly counts it an honor to keep Jimmy's spirit alive through the Foundation that bears his name. Surely, the best is yet to come.
